Watch Your Step

This passage is centuries old, where does it lead?

As you (friends, family and pesky purveyors of faux Louboutins) may know, last month I visited Paris. Pause. Sigh. Paris.  Anyhoo, when reviewing the photos back at home, I found a collection with an underlying theme (pun intended). The ground.

The perspective from the ground offers a sample of the amazing and varied textures, materials and proportions of Paris.   So much to experience in just walking from place to place.  Worn steps, ancient wood, loose cobbles, and, fine, dog poop.  So do watch your step.

Ancient, and used every day, the passage is in the Louvre Palace

Never forget where you’ve been. Never lose sight of where you’re going. And never take for granted the people who travel the journey with you.      – Susan Gale

Window Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Sometimes, a great gift can be found if we pause to watch our steps.  In the oldest church in Paris,  St-Germain des Près, the afternoon light through this window produced a temporary inspiration and a moment to remember.
